Letting Go

I put your words in the fire tonight
All your lies and truths
impossible to sort
into one of those two realms
most of what you said was both

The words rolled off your tongue
like a silkworm’s thread
an extension of your very biology
tiny threads I grasped
that melted like hot wax beneath my anxiousness

And You
revered like a treasure
for the anticipated promise it holds

Our life a play
written but never performed
only narrated
in a shadow theatre aside
the movie within the movie

And you misssed both
because a concessionaire was flirtworthy

Wow Lise! That really hit me. Sadly I can relate. Great poem and great job with the blog!

Really nice poem, Lise! May you keep writing your heart out, regardless!
